Web design & development

Web design and development, priced before you call

Custom-designed websites for businesses in Toronto and across Canada and the U.S. A website is from CAD $4,500 over two to three weeks. An admin dashboard, so your team can change its own pages, prices and promotions, is $2,000 more. The price is fixed and written down before any work starts.

94.8% of the top million home pages fail automated accessibility checks, with 51 errors each on average. WebAIM Million, February 2025.
79.1% of those home pages have text too faint to read against its background. WebAIM Million, February 2025.
48% of mobile websites have good Core Web Vitals: fast to load, quick to respond and steady while loading. HTTP Archive Web Almanac 2025.
47.8% of web traffic in Canada comes from phones, so the phone layout is half of your site. StatCounter, September 2026.
What you get

A website you own, built the way we build software

Most sites fail on the basics above, and none of them is hard to get right if it is checked before launch. Every site we build is designed for your business rather than adapted from a theme, hand-built with no page builder underneath, and measured against those numbers before it goes live.

Designed for you

No theme and no page builder. Layout, type and colour are designed around your business and your customers, and you approve every page on a private staging link before launch.

Fast on a phone

Built to Google’s “good” Core Web Vitals: the main content within 2.5 seconds, a response to a tap within 200 milliseconds, and no layout jumping while the page loads.

Accessible, for AODA

Built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA: contrast measured, images described, forms labelled, everything reachable by keyboard. Ontario’s AODA requires WCAG 2.0 AA of organizations with 50 or more employees.

Found in search

Page titles and descriptions, structured data for your business and services, a sitemap and clean addresses. Moving from an old site? Pages that already rank keep their address or are redirected.

Secure by default

HTTPS and security headers from day one, plain pages with no plugins to patch, and no tracking scripts on your visitors unless you ask for them.

Bookings and enquiries

Your enquiry or booking form goes to your inbox or your booking system. For a health clinic, a form that collects health information stays off until the data agreement under Ontario’s PHIPA is signed.

Your domain and hosting are set up as part of the build, including getting a domain back if you have lost access to it. If your profession has advertising rules, we write the copy to them with you, and you sign it off.

Three ways to buy it

Admin dashboard · $2,000

Change your own site, without calling a developer

A private dashboard at your-site/admin, set up for the content you actually change. It runs on Decap CMS, which is open source, so the dashboard itself has no licence to renew. Every change is saved in the site’s history, so a mistake can be undone.

  • Promotions and banners with start and end dates, which hide themselves when they expire
  • A top-of-page announcement you switch on and off
  • Services with their pictures, and which ones to feature
  • Team profiles and headshots
  • Photo galleries and homepage pictures
  • Opening hours, including the days you are closed

How it runs

Four steps, and you own the result

The payment terms are part of the process, written down before anything is built.

Book a scoping call
01

Scope and price on paper

You choose the pages, the features and whether you want the admin dashboard. What is included, and what is not, goes into a fixed-price agreement before work starts.

02

A staging site you can click

We build on a private staging link. You check the design, the phone layout and the forms in a real browser, and approve before anything goes live.

03

Launch on your domain

The site goes live on your domain. Paid 50/50, the second half is due at launch. On monthly instalments, we host and run the site in managed mode while the balance is being paid.

04

Full handover

Once it is paid in full, the source code, the dashboard keys and the hosting access transfer to you. Nothing is held back, and there is no licence to renew.

Build or buy

Three ways to get a website, and when each one wins

For many small businesses a website builder is the honest answer, and we will say so on the first call. Here is how the three usual routes compare.

Our own sites, in production

This site is our own work, and so are the products on the work page: Quinndatum, Quintarthai and IMS, built, hosted and maintained by us. A website is the same engineering at a smaller size, and when it needs automation behind it — intake, quotes, an assistant — the same people build that too.

This site is held to the standard we sell. A deploy is refused unless every page passes a layout check at four screen widths and every label meets the WCAG contrast ratio, and its security policy blocks any script we did not write. It sets no analytics or advertising cookies.

Honest advice

What we will not claim

We do not promise search rankings. Your position depends on your content and your competitors as much as on the build; what we promise is a site with nothing technical in the way.

There are no client case studies here yet. They get published as engagements complete. What we can show you is the software and sites we built and run for ourselves.

There is no theme, page-builder subscription or runtime licence to renew. Once the site is paid in full, the source is yours.

FAQ

Questions worth asking first

What does a website cost, and how long does it take?

A custom website is from CAD $4,500 and takes two to three weeks once we have your content. An admin dashboard for editing your own pages is CAD $2,000 more and adds one to two weeks. The fixed price for your site is written down before work starts.

How does payment work?

Either 50% to start and 50% at launch, or monthly instalments. On instalments, the site runs in managed mode while the balance is being paid; once it is paid in full, the source code, the dashboard keys and the hosting access transfer to you.

Do I need the admin dashboard?

Only if someone on your team will change the site often: prices, services, promotions or announcements. If changes are rare, you can skip it and add it later.

Will the site meet Ontario’s accessibility rules?

Sites are built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Ontario’s AODA requires WCAG 2.0 Level AA of businesses and non-profits with 50 or more employees, and 2.1 AA includes everything 2.0 AA asks for.

Who owns the site?

You do, once it is paid in full: the source code, the dashboard keys and the hosting access transfer to you, and there is no licence to renew.

Can you add automation to the site later?

Yes. Online intake, quote calculation, CRM sync or an AI assistant can be added to the same site. Those are priced on the AI automation services page.

Do you guarantee search rankings?

No. We build the technical side properly — titles, structured data, a sitemap, speed and accessibility — but rankings also depend on your content and your competitors, and no one can honestly guarantee them.

What is the site built with?

Usually Astro, which publishes plain, fast pages with nothing to patch, with the admin dashboard on Decap CMS. Both are open source, so there is no licence to renew. This site itself is hand-written HTML.

Can you redesign the site I already have?

Yes. Pages that already rank keep their address or are redirected to the new one, and we move your domain across, including recovering it if you have lost access.

Where is the site hosted?

On a static hosting service such as Netlify. On instalments it runs on our account in managed mode while the balance is paid; once it is paid in full, it moves to yours.
